1940 Ford Pickup Truck ~ Pepsi ~ 1:24 Scale
Golden Wheels Die Cast ~ New In Box

1940 Ford Pickup Truck. Golden Wheels Die Cast cat no. MS13, heavy gauge die cast metal. The hood opens to show the Ford V8 engine in detail. This die cast model is Brand New in the original plain white box. Measures 7.3" long by 2.5" high by 2.7" wide. (Although claimed to be 1:24 scale, the actual dimensions of the model put it closer to 1:27 or 1:28 scale -- maybe the Chinese manufacturer has faulty rulers.) Nice graphics; detailed exterior, interior, engine, and undercarriage (chrome!).

For 1940, Ford 1/2-ton pickups adopted the look of that year's Standard-series cars -- the first time since 1932 that trucks shared car styling. This included a vee'd grille, pointed hood, and headlights mounted into the fenders, giving these haulers a modern, classy look. Power continued to come from a choice of two flathead V-8 engines: a 136-cubic-inch 60-horsepower unit, or a 221-cid 85-hp version.
