US FDC ~ Ameripex President ~ TIPEX 50th Anniversary ~ 1986
US FDC ~ Ameripex President ~ TIPEX 50th Anniversary ~ 1986
US First Day Cover (FDC) of Andrew Jackson (Scott 2216g) presidential stamp issued at Ameripex, May 22, 1986. But, oh, so much more! At the top of the cover are two TIPEX souvenir sheets, plates #21557 and #21558, the only two plates used to print these sheets. They are canceled at Grand Centra Sta, New York (TIPEX was held at the Grand Central Palace) on May 9, 1986, the 50th anniversary of the Third Int'l Philatelic Exhibition (TIPEX). The huge 11" x 4.8" envelope was produced by Fun Fare of Stanford, CA and has a reproduction of the poster created for TIPEX. An informative stuffer is included. Along with the FDOI cancel, five other stamps for other major philatelic exhibitions are included. Only 28 of these covers were made by Martin Feibusch and this is one of the rare ones signed by him in the upper left. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more spectacular cover than this one! Yours for only $25.00 postpaid! Click on the image to see it larger than life!
