Hand made FDCs by Hideaki Nakano ~ 1983-1988

        On this page you will find 242 First Day Covers and event covers hand made by Hideaki Nakano. His first US FDC was for the Coral Reefs stamps (Aug. 1980) and with the Everitt Dirksen stamp (Dec. 1980), he started numbering his covers and using the designation "H.N. Local Post (HNLP)." The covers are quite unusual and have many themes: humorous, bizarre, protest, political commentary, X-rated, etc.

        Most HNLP covers are very large (8" x 10"), but for a brief period in the mid-80s, Nakano made covers on standard 6½" envelopes. These are those covers. They were made in extremely limited editions of 10 to 50. HNLP (Nakano) covers are sold mainly at cover auctions and are generally not stocked by dealers. At recent McCusker auctions, prices ranged from $15 to $60 and higher. My prices here are way under typical auction prices. Please order by Scott number or event description.
        All covers will be sent by first class or Priority Mail. You, the buyer, pay only the exact postage plus 50c per order for packaging and handling.
